How reservation is depriving Indian society

Consequences of reservation.

The country where more than 50 million people are still below the poverty line. The country where more than 50% of graduates decides to go foreign for beginning their career,Yes we are talking about our very own (Used to be called Sone ki Chiriya)* country India and one of the reason is caste reservation in India.

The reason why I have written the above lines because India is a diverse country But still some people are becoming a bone in India’s developing process And yes I m talking about one of the most talked reason for the depriving of developing India i.e Reservation in India.
Our blog is completely biased free so when we write about Caste Discrimination We also make sure to write Why Caste Reservation So If you want to have some idea please see Who are the persons encouraging Caste Discrimination and how to end this Social evil.

How it started.

It was all started long back in  1902 where the first government order was passed in the state of Kolhapur to give 50% reserved seats  for backward classes. in 1979 Mandal commission was established to assess the situation of deprived classes and it classified 1257 communities as backward(OBC population of 52%).In 1980, the report was submitted by them which led to increase reservation from 22.5% to 49.5%.
The supreme court has  clear instructions not to increase reservations to more then 50% but let me tell you about the current scenario Tamil Nadu one of the southern parts of India has 69% of reserved seats with 66.6% in Andhra Pradesh and talking about northeast states(Arunachal Pradesh,Meghalaya,Nagaland) 80% of the seats are reserved for ST.
Caste Reservation
You can imagine out of 100 seats only 0 seats can be filled by general students that too are unreserved i.e can be filled by a St/Sc or Obc student if has secured more marks than a general student.
Now you can just imagine the audacity of reserved people they still consider themselves as deprives. A state  in which 80 seats are exclusively  for the reserved categories and they still can’t develop so whose fault is this, and the fact is that it has become a greed to them they have reservation in promotion also that means your fellow mate will be promoted first if he belongs to a reserved category irrespective  of the skills and capabilities (Because reservation) Now they are asking reservation in private sectors also.
The country where the cutup of a general student in exams such as IIT is 105 whereas just 40 marks for reserved class and this year it was only (-22) and yes there is a minus sign over there. The country where more capable persons are not offered the place they deserve and where given to the reserved(So called discriminated people). How can that country compete with other developing countries such as USA or China?

The current scenario.

You must have seen or heard the case of reservation in Gujrat or the Jat Aarakshan protest trending some months ago and now the Gujars is all trying to call them as deprived instead of trying to reduce reserved seats WHY?? The reason is because they know being reserved in India is easy then removing reservation from India. The trend started back in 2015 when the Patel society started to demand reservation for their people not because they were deprived or they need it but because they were clever enough to understand the scenario.
Updated :- The most interesting fact I got to know today is that for the very first time in  India Gujrat government has issued reservation to General people who belong to financially poor society.
A lot of Communities and organisations are joining hands with each other to ask the government to remove reservation from all sectors or at least to remove reservation for every reserved people having an income more than 5 lacs. Many communities such as WAR (War Against Reservation),IAR(India Against reservation)ARC (Anti Reservation Community)(Please do tell us if you have a community or organisation and fighting for this social cause)are encouraging people through social media to demand reservation free country from the current BJP government.

Reservation
You must be having some questions on your mind like why our government is still quiet on this rising problem and that is all because of vote bank because that’s what is more important. They aren’t actually quiet and are promoting reservation instead.Just some days ago Chief minister of Bihar asked to provide reserved seats to private sectors.

Will genetic engineering be the sunrise or sunset of human race?

DISCLAIMER- SKIP THIS BLOG AT YOUR OWN PERIL BECAUSE IT’S NOT JUST ANOTHER SCIENCE BLOG BUT IT CONCERNS OUR FUTURE. SO GO AHEAD AND EXPLORE…
Hi, my fellow netizens. Hope you are doing good. You must be wondering what on earth am I up to? Am I alright? What is wrong with me? Why would a guy pursuing MECHANICAL engineering, write a blog on such an unwonted topic, so very divergent from his course of study? Well, firstly guys pardon me for my unconditional love for BIOLOGY and secondly, I have always been of the opinion that an extra helping of KNOWLEDGE never goes amiss.
Particularly when the topic under discussion is going to play a major role in shaping our life and the things revolving around it. In few years to come it will have huge potential both in a good and evil sense so it’s better if we armor ourselves up with some good and sound information regarding this soon to be next “BIG THING”.
Well, we all know what BIOGENETICS is all about and its wide range of application including Agriculture, Animal husbandry, Medicine, and Surgery. But for those who are still ignorant about what’s going on, please allow me to enlighten you- “BIOGENETICS is the science and art of changing the genetic makeup of some of the living organism to drive intended benefits to the human kind and human society as a whole. ”
With its help, various species of crops have grown to many lethal diseases. Hybridization has helped to increase crop yield, nutrition value, quicker, higher productivity and thus brought about a new era of Agricultural revolution, which can hopefully eradicate starvation and malnutrition.
It has been effective for tackling and defeating deadly and difficult diseases in the world. Eg-cystic fibrosis. And with the advancement made in modern medical science, one could easily lay their hands on a person’s whole genome sequence and thus predict what are the diseases and infection that one has the risk of catching in future. Timely action and necessary precautionary measures can then help negate the chances of being contagious with those diseases. In a nutshell, BIOGENETICS can shoot a person’s lifespan up by a few good years.
But what about the hazards and ill effects involved in it because I as well as you would agree that Genetic engineering could be a serious threat if put to nefarious ends. With the power of the market and the open information published in journals, I am sure that humans will want to enhance their children and will be prepared to pay large sums to do so.
More Laws and Regulation cannot prevent this from happening. There are a number of disadvantages in allowing a scientist to break down barriers that perhaps are better left untouched.A rogue scientist might alter particular genes to create so called “Designer babies”, with tailored features that range from height and eye color to disease immunity and thus make huge profits by selling such nauseous ideas and models.
I think Bioterrorism is a reality and a risk factor we need to take into consideration. It can be used as a murder weapon too as a greedy and inhuman scientist may not hesitate to carry out any action that they may deem fit for their purpose and interest. Eg-Nazi human experimentation was a series of medical experiments on a large number of prisoners, including children by Nazi Germany in its concentration camp in early to mid-1940’s (i.e; during World war 2 and holocaust).
Nazi physicians and their assistants forced prisoners into participating with an aim to design “Homo sapiens” that will help German military personnel in combat situations, develop a new weapon, aid in the recovery of military personnel who have been injured and to advance the Nazi racial ideology. Besides, there are a number of ethnic objections. Diseases, after all, exist for a reason and have persisted throughout history for a reason. Whilst we should be fighting against them, we do need at least a few illnesses, otherwise, we would soon become overpopulated.
Can it Go Too Far?
One question arises in my mind will genetic engineering really go bad.I mean There are many thousands of genetic scientists with honest intentions who want to bring an end to the worst diseases and illnesses of the current century and who are trying to do so by using genetic engineering. However, what is to stop just a handful of people taking the research too far? you might have heard the term designer babies right ??, children whose hair color, eye color, height and intelligence we ourselves dictate? people in some countries have already started trying to change the sex of babies, for instance in China, where is it much more preferable to have a body? Is that right? Is it fair?
So many trends, innovations and scientific inventions and discoveries, so much potential to benefit the human race and at the same time can cause damage to human race too if the technology falls into wrong hands.
What the future has got us in store, only time will tell. So prepare yourself intelligently and for the worst so that any catastrophic or threatening consequence of inhuman activity will just seem as a hiccup to you. ALL THE VERY BEST, “cause the journey has only begun”.

These might be the Factual reasons behind the Blind Beliefs

Some common beliefs and the scientific reasons behind them are:
1.  CAT CROSSING YOUR PATH
This is the most popular blind belief that is followed in almost every part of India. In ancient times people had no motorized vehicles rather they had animal driven carts and they used to carry food during their journey.

There are 3 Possible reasons behind this restriction:-
(i) a kitten always follows its mother unlike other babies, so if a traveler meets a cat while crossing a road there is a probability that there might be kittens following their parent and may come under the cart
(ii) a traveler carrying food with him should be aware of cats as they may follow them and chase for food for the certain distance
(iii) night travelers are warned of the black cats because animals sense cats as the presence of tigers so they may get afraid and possibly could freak out.
Cats originated from the middle eastern Arabic regions and they traveled a long way to India before dogs reached. And now cat’s population have significantly reduced and there is a huge growth of dogs in our country. Thus if we follow this belief of dogs instead of cats and stop our vehicles as soon as we see a dog around, this would reduce the number of road accidents….  (author’s personal point of view)

2. hanging lemon and chilies in front of shops
Alakshmi like misfortuned men, widows, lower caste etc. are considered god of misfortune brings bad luck to the shop owners or business. In order not to allow her entering the shops they hang these 7 chilies and 4 lemons. It is believed that Alakshmi after consuming lemon and green chilies, loses her urge to enter the house or shop. She will
turn around without casting her vicious eye.
truth: this was formed for the vegetable and food vendors. The cotton thread which is used to pierce the chilies and lemon absorbs the acid from the fruit whilst it is fresh. This smell keeps the pests and insects away from the shops. This is a simple pesticide which came into practice from ancient times, which is misleading now superstitiously and is being used all other shops too.

3. sweeping after sunset
If you sweep your house after sunset Lakshmi leaves your house and hence inviting poverty.
But the real reason behind this is back in the days when there was no electricity. light of lamp was not enough to spot any small valuable ornament while sweeping and hence chances of sweeping them away with the dust is high. Hence it was not advised to sweep after dark.

4. Walking or placing something under the stairs
it is practiced in every home not to keep any household thing or even walk under the staircase.
in old times people had no solid staircase, they had wooden ladders. So it was advised not to walk under them as they may fall upon you or someone on the roof may drop something on you.

5. Eating non-veg in the month of Shrawan, Kartik and other weekdays
it is scientifically found that in months of Shrawan, Kartik which falls in the rainy season in India. Fish, birds, animals get infected due to the water-borne diseases like jaundice, cholera etc. consuming the flesh would indirectly transfer the germs into us making us fall ill.
Some weekdays other than Sunday and sometimes Sundays are debarred from eating non-veg. This was made into practice so that people don’t overeat non-veg every week.

6. Fallen hair around the house will make you lose money
The myth is that if you throw fallen hair inside the house instead of binning it, you will lose your money and property.
But the real fact behind this superstition is if you leave the fallen hair inside the house it may end up falling into the food when the wind blows. This will directly harm your health and would make you lose money over medicines.beliefs

7. lizard falling on human is bad luck/good luck
Every movement of the wall lizard holds some significance according to Gowli Shastra in India. The color, spots, stripes, chirping or twittering of the lizard and where it falls on a person’s body are said to indicate future happenings. However, the fact holds that lizards that are poisonous in nature release poisonous chemicals from their body in order to protect against enemies. If such lizard comes in contact of a person’s body or falls in a food item like milk etc. then is bound to make it contaminated. One should wash that particular spot and area to avoid infectious disease.

8. immediately take a river bath after funeral
When a person dies, the body starts to decompose and when the body is burnt, the ashes fly around in the air. And when you attend a funeral, you are exposed to the germs, bacteria and the chemicals released by the body and present in the air due to decomposition. The fire burns down the germs but dead germs along with certain chemicals fly around falling on you. Taking a river bath (running water) washes away germs and ash dust on you.

9. Sacrificing animals for avoiding death
The ritual of animal sacrifice has remained in practice for a long time. In India, Goddess Kali is known to favor animal sacrifices—goats in particular. Killing a goat in her name takes one away from the moment of death.
There is no scientific explanation for this activity, but this is sadly a continuation of certain beliefs that earlier people used to hold. People had a thought that there is an evil spirit along with god. So they used to think that God gives life and evil takes it. Thus in case of an epidemic spread of disease, they sacrificed animals to replace the life of humans.
But the sad part still remains that, people are killing animals even if they are well educated and are far more exposed to reality now.

10. Throwing coins in wells and rivers
Throwing coins in fountains and other water bodies for good luck. It is done all over the world not only in India. In ancient times, the coins were made of copper, which is an essential element for our body’s well being. Rivers and man or nature dug wells used to be the main source of drinking water. The dropped copper coins in the water dissolves its ions which became beneficial for those who drank it. Copper also helps to kill bacteria present in the water.

11. Serving curd at night attracts evil spirits
Ayurveda explains that curd consumption at night is not good as it leads to mucus development. This may result in voice deepening and fever. People used to think this is a possession of evil spirit. If you are eating curd during the day, have it without sugar but if you are eating curd at night, add sugar or some black pepper.
These are the possible reasons we suggested for the blind beliefs that are still present in most part of India.

Most Interesting Facts About Transmission System of a Vehicles

If you haven’t gone through our first article of Automobile Series. We recommend you to have a look at that one i.e An Introduction to the Electrical Vehicles Part-1.
When a car moves on the road, the road shows its nature. Also, Sometimes it becomes rude with the vehicle or sometimes it behaves gently with the car. In this scenario, a mechanism of the vehicle is introduced to negotiate with the road. It gives the proper torque to the vehicle on the off-road or increases the speed of the wheels in the case of the plane smooth road. This mechanism is called the transmission system. It is the power delivery system of the car which transmits the power from the engine to the wheels.  And it maintains the torque and speed in the delivered power as per the road needed. But is this the only reason for using a transmission system…..absolutely NOT. There is an another reason for existing a transmission system in a vehicle. let’s know why a transmission system is used in a car.
transmission
#STARTS WITH ENGINE
Before knowing about the gearbox let’s move one step back from the transmission system. Actually, the main problem arises in the engine. And the problem is it can’t provide the maximum torque for a wide range of engine speed. The range also varies from engine to engine, car to car. And it starts around 1500-2000rpm, ends around 5000-6000rpm. But the cars need a higher rpm.But going for beyond specified rpm increases the fuel consumption and also causes some major mechanical damage to the engine. If an engine is directly connected to the differential then it will not even able to provide necessary starting torque to the wheel as at low rpm it has a low torque, at the same time the car can’t achieve a higher speed for the mechanical limitations.
Where is some torque vs engine speed curve of engines

OTHER ENGINES:

#WHAT DOES A TRANSMISSION SYSTEM DO IN THIS CASE???
So to avoid the above problem transmission system is set up between the engine and the wheels. The engine is operated at the desired conditions where the torque is maximum and the fuel consumption is minimum. And all the task is completed by the gearbox. In the case of starting mode or when the vehicle runs on the off-road or when it carries heavy load transmission system increases the torque within the given maximum power offered by the engine.
As we know
power =torque *speed
transmission
So when the torque is increased simultaneously the speed is reduced. When the car needs a high speed then gearbox increases the speed and decreases the torque. In this way, a transmission system acts a major role to energize the wheels of a car.

#HOW THEY DO IT????
The mechanical architecture of a transmission system is different for different types of the transmission system. Some gearbox consists of meshing of gears and some come with the belt and dual clutch.Every gearbox has some benefits and demerits. So the selection of gearbox depends on the applications and types of vehicles in which they are used.

This is the introductory part of the transmission system of a vehicle. Next time our article will be based on the description of modern transmission systems that are used vastly in many modern cars. And I am sure that this information will help u in understanding the difference between the transmission system of an IC engine car and an electric car.
